Woolworths Educational Programmes - Moms Tours

With a range of nutritional challenges facing South Africa today, Woolworths offers in store, dietician-led tours to give parents the opportunity to learn about healthy eating habits, good food options, balanced lunch boxes and smart snacking ideas.

The tours are part of Woolworths Educational Programme for primary schools, which has been helping learners, teachers and parents in some 3000 schools about nutrition, healthy living and caring for the environment for over 10 years, and is part of Woolworths' Good Business Journey.

As part of the tours, Woolworths Educational Programme’s professional network of dieticians take small groups of parents and customers around the store and provide valuable information about good food choices and the importance of exercise in a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

Parents are provided with useful guidelines to help them understand the nutritional information provided on packs and on how to make exercise fun and interesting for the whole family, and are encouraged to ask questions throughout the store visit. Various themes are covered throughout the year per tour.

Currently mom’s tours are offered in Gauteng, Western Cape, Kwa-Zulu Natal and the Eastern Cape. Tours run either in the mornings or the early evenings to accommodate working parents. For Littleworld members we have developed a special version of these tours for parents with children between the age of 3-7 years. Due to Woolworths not being permitted to advise on kids and baby nutrition below 36 months of age as per SA legislation, we cannot offer this tour to parents with little ones under 3 years of age.
