Biltong and cream cheese pinwheels

Clem’s pinwheels are easy and fun for the kids!

Kids always on a snack attack, grown kids equally as snacky? These savoury puff pastry pin wheels are made in minutes and can be stored uncooked in the freezer which means you’re always a few minutes away from a freshly baked snack.

Biltong and cream cheese pinwheels

Easy 
Makes about 20 pinwheels 
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes 

Ingredients:

  • 2 x 175 g Woolworths Smokey Red Pepper Medium Fat Cream Cheese
  • 6 T Woolworths Fresh Chives, finely chopped
  • 80 g Woolworths Original Free Range Beef Biltong Powder
  • 100 g Woolworths Mature Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • 500 g Woolworths Frozen All Butter Puff Pastry Sheets
  • 2 Woolworths Free Range Eggs, beaten
  • Woolworths Everything Bagel Seasoning
     

Cooking instructions:

  1. In mixing bowl combine the cream cheese, chives, biltong powder and grated cheese, mix well to combine. 
  2. Place your first sheet of puff pastry on a floured surface then gently spread the filling across the pastry ensuring the ends are also covered. 
  3. Roll the pastry from the bottom towards the top to form a sausage like shape. Place you filled pastry on a baking tray. Repeat the process with the second sheet of pastry. Brush some of the beaten egg over the puff pastry and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning. 
  4. Place the baking tray in the freezer for 10 minutes or until the rolled pastry firms slightly. Once chilled and slightly firm cut round pin wheels out of the pastry and return to the baking tray. 
  5. Bake for 20 minutes in an oven that has been preheated to 200C. Serve once cool enough to handle.
