Chilli-mince kebabs

Ingredients

  • 2 red onion, finely sliced
  • 500 g lamb mince
  • 2-4 chillies
  • 1 tsp whole garlic, peeled
  • A pinch salt and black pepper
  • 1 egg (was large now jumbo!)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Tomato chutney
  • 4 tsp brown or treacle sugar
  • 30 g parsley
  • Sesame buns

Cooking Instructions

  1. Cut red onions and chilli as fine as possible.
  2. Add the mince, garlic, salt and pepper to the chopped chilli and onion and mix well.
  3. From the mixture, create golf-ball size mince balls for your kebabs.
  4. In a separate mixing dish, beat an egg and dip each mince ball in the beaten egg.
  5. Fry mince balls in oil. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  6. To make the chutney, add tomato chutney, salt and pepper and a few pinches of brown sugar to make a soet suur kombinasie (like hilda from 7de laan).
  7. Place the fried mince balls on skewers and add to the chutney mix. 
  8. Serve hot with sesame buns.
